ABOUT MYSELF
[I believe there is a connection between Mind, Body & Spirit and this is reflected in all the treatments I give.
I initially trained as a General Counselor with Central School of Counselling and Therapy then as a Bereavement counsellor with the Barnet Bereavement Project, with whom I worked for 2 years.
I trained in Holistic Massage and also took the ITEC certificate, then in Aromatherapy and in Reiki. I then learnt Touch For Health and use this tool in all of my body treatments, as appropriate.
I have undertaken a four-year yoga Teacher Training, initialy with The Yoga for Health Foundation in Bedford,a centre specialising in remedial and general yoga, where I have worked with people with breathing disorders, artheritic conditions and muscular distrophy.
I continued my training with Friends of Yoga, which is affliliated to the Bihar School of India. this is a classical style of yoga, following the Hatha Yoga approach. This year I went on a yoga pilgrimage to South India.
I am experienced at treating conditions such as chrones disease, eczma, anxiety and panic attacks, deppression, low self-esteem, relationship problems, asthma, oesteoporosis, artheritis, muscular distrophy.
I have been practicing counselling and complementary therapies for 10 years and have been teaching yoga for 4 years. I am a member of BACP and abide by its rules and ethics, I am also registered with the Massage Training nstitute, the Aromatherapy Conuncil, the British Medical Association and the South West Practitioners Association. I am fully insured in all aspects of my work. I am happy to give talks or demonstrations, if requested.
